Scholarship is compulsory and free for everyone in Navarra between the ages of 6 to 16.
All the foreign minors and the natives as well, have the right and the duty to the education
in the same conditions; this right involves the access to basic, free and compulsory education, the obtaining of the corresponding academic graduates and the access to the public system of grants and assistance.
The requests for grants and scholar assistance for the canteen, transport, school materials, etc. can be processed through the school itself.

In the educational establishments there are pre-inscription and registering periods (from February to April), and an extraordinary period (at the beginning of September). Anyway, the families that arrive to the village once the course has started, they can register their over 3-years-old children going to the school. In the chosen establishment information will be given about the required documentation.

As a result of the coexistence of the two languages of Navarra, you must choose between the different teaching models offered by the educational system when registering your children:

  1. Language model D: all subjects are taught in Basque, except for Spanish language (4 classes a week from the 3rd year of Primary School onwards) and English (4 classes a week in Infant School and 5 classes a week in Primary School)
  2. Language model A PAI: all subjects are taught in Spanish, except for 11 classes of English a week from Infant School onwards and Basque as a subject (4 classes a week from Infant School onwards). The introduction of this model is progressive and, for the 2018-19 school year, this
model has now been implemented in the Infant School and up to the 3rd year of Primary School.
  3. Language model G PAI: all subjects are taught in Spanish, except for 11 classes of English a week from Infant School upwards. The introduction of this model is progressive and, for the 2018- 19 school year, this model has now been implemented in the Infant School and up to the 3rd year of Primary School.

The objective of Pre-Scholl education is
to contribute to the physical, emotional,
social and intellectual development of the
children. Communication and language skills will also be attended, the basic coexistence and social relationship guidelines as well, and the discovery of the physical and social characteristics of the environment too. The facilitation of their personal autonomy is also aimed. Pre-School Education is divided in two
First cycle: From 0 to 3. This cycle is voluntary and subsidized, but not free
Second cycle: From 3 to 6. This cycle is
voluntary and free.

Even if this cycle isn’t compulsory, you can register your children from their 16th week. This service is subsidized, but it isn’t free (the applied fees depend on the family incomes). The working methodology is carried through the discovery and experimentation. The
distribution of groups is made according to the age:
1. UNWEANED BABIES: From the 16th week to 1-year-old babies
2. WALKER BABIES: from 1 to 2-year-old babies
3. GROWN UP BABIES: from 2 to 3-year-old babies
